So you’re having Christmas at your house this year. You’ll have the whole family there, including the in-laws and you want to make a good impression. But where do you start? There are so many options, colours and styles to choose from it could drive you mad. But as always were here to help, and give our suggestions on whats trending this festive season and how to style your Christmas Shindig!
Our main advice is to consider colour and try to steer towards the use of whites, silvers or golds. Green is always lovely to add also. The reason for this is Christmas is all about lots of amazing food. Every Christmas table spread is filled with different colors due to all the different foods and your decor should look beautiful with all of that delicious food. Add to much colour to your decorating and once all the food is down your table looks more like a pizza. Beautiful whites and silvers look stunning, fresh and work with all the colorful delicious dishes. If you do add a colour keep it fresh such as green so it works in with the food.
A lovely and simple way to decorate a Christmas setting is with Christmas baubles scattered down the center of the table (go different sizes for levels and detail) or placed into a glass vase. Candles are always lovely also. If you still want more get creative with nice addition of greenery or detail in silver twigs or white decorations. Then make sure your plates cutlery and napkins are dressed creatively to suit & finish the decor.
To me one of the most important parts of Christmas, the tree should match your decor and style to flow. White trees are becoming a big trend and can be beautiful styled the right way, but a classic green tree is always a winner. Alternate baubles and ornaments in golds, silvers and whites. Burlap is also a great traditional way to add texture. Final tip is not to forget the lights! they give it a certain festive charm and makes sure it can be seen late into the night.
