Wedding Styling : The Dress, the Shoes, the Lot!

Planning a wedding can be the most wonderful (and stressful!) experience of your life. It includes planning everything from your dress to what colour napkins you are going to put on the tables. To make sure you look your stylish best on your special day and have the memories to match, we’ve added a few of our own tips for you to consider before you walk down the aisle.

The Dress

Women will always say that the dress is the hardest (and most expensive) thing to choose.   So here’s an abstract concept, why not hire it? I know you’re probably thinking ‘why would I hire my wedding dress?’. But if you think about it, its an economical way to have the dress of your dreams without it sitting gathering dust for the next few decades. Now we’ve sorted the economics, so to speak, lets get to styling!

There have to be three simple and clear categories in choosing a classic dress style: low back, full sleeve and strapless. These three styles are each flattering to different body shapes and are all elegantly classy. Super popular right now, a low back is a great way to accentuate a long figure, and draw attention to the butt. Making a comeback in wedding style, a full sleeve dress is also a great style to accentuate a long figure and draw attention up to the face. The strapless style is a great dress for all figures complimenting a curvy shape. Tight down to the waistline and then flowing out to the floor, this dress accentuates the curves you want, the waist and bust area.

The Shoes

The amount of gorgeous wedding shoes out in the fashion world are endless. But what style will best suit me? Top tip is always comfort. You want to be comfortable and enjoy your big day, not thinking  how much your feet hurt! A low, strappy heel is  great way to stay comfortable without compromising on style. Also think about venue.  If your going to be on grass all day, opt for a thicker heel so you’re not sinking into the ground. A flat is also a great stylish shoe to choose for complete comfort, and also a great choice for taller women.

I encourage everyone planning a wedding to hire a professional photographer to capture those beloved wedding day memories. You may think its not worth it, or ‘they’re way out of my price range’, but researching photographers in your area you can find some really great deals. Maybe moneys not an issue? Then another trend highly popular in the Asian culture is to have a pre-wedding shoot! It involves hiring a wedding photographer and having professional photos taken of you and your partner in full wedding attire. Usually in a picturesque setting, some couples even fly overseas for their pics! This achieves the perfect loving wedding memories for you and your partner, without the stress of these perfect photos on your big day.
